Overview
PingPay is a payment orchestration layer that connects all blockchains and fiat systems into a single unified network. It provides tools for users, merchants, AI agents, and developers to send and receive instant, borderless crypto and fiat payments with low fees and instant settlement. Whether you’re building e-commerce, subscriptions, micropayments, or agentic commerce—PingPay makes payment flows just work, regardless of chains, tokens, or currencies.
How It Works
PingPay operates on a simple principle: “Pay Your Way.” The payer pays in their preferred currency (crypto or fiat), and the payee receives funds in their preferred currency. No need to worry about matching wallets, blockchains, or currencies. The complexity of cross-chain payments is abstracted away through NEAR Intents, letting users focus on the transaction—not the technology.
Core Features
PingPay provides a comprehensive suite of payment tools:
- Payment Links & Embeddable Widgets: Drop-in payment components for any website or application
- Intent-Based Payments: Chain-agnostic transactions powered by NEAR Intents
- Chain-Abstracted Onramp: Users deposit fiat via Coinbase Onramp to receive native USDC on Base, which routes through NEAR Intents to land on any preferred blockchain in under 30 seconds
- Automated Subscriptions: Recurring payment support for SaaS and digital services
- Swaps & Multi-chain Asset Management: Seamless asset movement across blockchains
- APIs & SDKs: Full developer toolkit for custom integrations
Technical Architecture
PingPay is powered by NEAR Intents—a protocol that enables cross-chain transactions without requiring users to understand the underlying blockchain infrastructure. When a user initiates a payment, the intent is broadcast to a network of solvers who compete to fulfill it at the best rate. This creates an efficient marketplace for cross-chain liquidity.
The Ping Onramp leverages the Coinbase Onramp API for zero-fee fiat-to-USDC conversions on Base, which then routes through the NEAR Intents network. Developers can specify target wallet addresses, tokens (NEAR, USDC, etc.), and support any blockchain—NEAR, Ethereum, Bitcoin, and more—enabling a simplified user journey that completes in under 30 seconds.
For Developers
PingPay offers multiple integration paths:
- Hosted Checkout: Pre-built payment pages with full styling control
- Headless Payments: API-first approach for complete customization
- SDK Integration: Embeddable onramp components with dynamic parameters and event handlers
- Merchant Dashboard: Manage transactions, track payments, and configure settings
The SDK supports both inline modal and full-page redirect flows, with optional event handlers for each step of the onramp process enabling tight UX feedback.
Use Cases
PingPay enables a wide range of payment scenarios:
- E-commerce: Accept crypto payments with automatic fiat conversion
- Agentic Commerce: AI agents can autonomously transact using Privy-enabled wallets with PingPay handling fiat-to-crypto conversions
- Subscriptions: Automated recurring payments for digital services
- Micropayments: Low-fee transactions for content monetization
- Cross-border Remittances: Fast, low-cost international transfers
Why It Matters
Traditional global payments are slow, fragmented, and expensive. PingPay removes these barriers by creating one payment network that sits above all chains and fiat systems. The NEAR Infrastructure Committee has funded PingPay as a multicurrency multichain payment layer, recognizing its role in enabling the next generation of payment infrastructure where users act based on intents rather than managing technical complexity.
